Native Youth Camps

Our Native Youth Camps are facilitated by Lisa Fulton from the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribe and Mercedes Van Cleve from both the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and Lac Courte Oreilles band of Ojibwe and Dee Buros, Indian Education Coordinator/ TOSA at Shakopee Public School.

We have incorporated the Eagala Model and our cultural beliefs and traditions to develop a unique experience for Native Youth. Tribes throughout the area have started to heal historical trauma through the horse nation ceremonies. We incorporate the Native values in our work to empower the strength of our youth.

The goals of our camps are to expand traditional ways, cultivate responsibility, develop self-confidence and increase self-awareness for our Native Youth today who walk in two worlds.
